Memories of an annual trip to the beach with my grandparents are the inspiration for this piece.  Constructed using overlapping layers of handmade paper, beeswax and pigment including various shades of blues and white with very subtle hints of gold shimmer. The colors and textures represent the fragmented memories that narrate days of chasing waves, digging for clams, and searching for  both sea shells and sea glass while walking what seemed like endless miles of continuous coastline with my dear grandmother.
